There were many natural and man-made rapid floats around the rivers near Thousand Island Lake, we decided to try one of them.

After we have finished our route, Jason scooped up as much water as he could to see if the boat will sink.

Next destination, Shicheng, a small town 1 hour from Thousand Island Lake township.

The bus dropped us off at a hotel next to the highway….

… and drove off.

This is a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere.

The hotel sign next to the highway: Wildfish cafe, restaurant, hotel, fishing.

The owner assured us that the hotel was not far from the township, within the walkable distance. “Just cross this bridge on the lake across from the hotel.” They said.

We found a much nicer hotel after crossing that bridge.

20170710_162013

The hotel offered free bike rides to resident guests. “The bikes are not for you,” we were told by the front desk.

Pass this lake and you will see a bike station.

20170710_173303

The owner of the bike rental station was impressed with our determination to bike tour the town in the rain, he gave us a small discount and fixed us up with a very nice two-people bike.

The left wheel is the turning wheel and has all the controls.

Onwards.

Arriving at the bike rental station again, now all lighted up.

The friendly owner showed us their upstairs hotel rooms. We were going to book this room but it almost doubled the price right before I was about to book… A much nicer room compared to our farmstead bed & breakfast.

The owner took a picture of us on bikes, for one last time.

A little certificate for completing the bike trail.

View from upstairs.

Back to our hotel, the hotel owner made our dinner.

20170710_214742

We finished everything in no time.

Our farm bed & breakfast at night.

The owner fell asleep while waiting for the new guests.
